The first names for WoWFEST26: New World Disorder have landed – and they set the tone for a bold, urgent and unmissable festival.
Joining us this May are Colm Tóibín, Cathy Tyson, Joelle Taylor, John Robb, Yvvette Edwards, Stephen Kapos, Chris Nineham, Basma Ghalayini, Maria O’Reilly, Linda Loy, Rebecca Loy, Tony Wailey, Helen Jeffery, Philippa Holloway, Alex Lockwood, Mario Petrucci and Kateryna Medvediuk with many more speakers and events to be announced in the coming weeks.
Now in its 26th year, Liverpool’s longest-running radical writing and literary festival returns at a moment of global turbulence. From democratic backsliding and rising authoritarianism to AI without accountability, spiralling inequality and the weaponisation of disinformation, New World Disorder confronts the forces reshaping our world.
But this isn’t a festival of despair – it’s a festival of resistance.
Expect powerful conversations, fearless writing and urgent debate spanning protest rights, Black British history, working-class culture, queer counterculture, displacement, environmental crisis and more.
WoWFEST26 takes place this May across venues in Liverpool and online. Explore what’s been announced so far and get ready for MUCH more.
