WoW Young Writers

The young people have the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and discuss issues they may be facing and have their say on the world around them in a creative and supportive environment. Funded by the Youth Endowment Fund the project has been set up to support young people who are most at risk of being drawn into crime or criminal activity in their area.

Rise Athena Project

WoW Young Writers had the privilege to work with Liverpool trio Rise Athena on a 6-week project!

Rise Athena

Rise Athena describe their sound as electronic soundscapes with poetic lyrics. You can read all about them in their latest interview with Bido Lito.

We had an incredible 6-weeks, where they lead a 6-week creative writing project with the group, exploring writing lyrics, telling stories and producing your own work. At the end of the 6-weeks a collaborative track was produced with Rise Athena, check it out below.

WOW Young Writers are looking for new members now! We can also offer a FREE taster session for your school or youth provision, either in person or online.

Letters to the Past

Spoken Word and Short Film with Joelle Taylor

Working alongside the critically acclaimed Spoken Word artist Joelle Taylor, our WoW Young Writers learnt all about creating their own poetry pieces, exploring the different ways in which poetry could be placed on the page, mic, or the stage.

Having created their own spoken word pieces our WoW Young Writers worked with film-makers Amber Akaunu and Catherine Garvey to move the words from the page to the screen creating a series of short films all shot by our WoW Young Writers.
