ReCITE: Writer in Residence Opportunity

We’re thrilled to announce a unique opportunity for a Writer in Residence to join the ReCITE project.

About the Role:

As a Writer in Residence, you will collaborate with the Community Innovation Team (CIT) at Aintree University Hospital to engage High Intensity Users (HIUs) of the emergency department. Through creative writing workshops, you’ll empower participants to share their stories, amplify their voices, and contribute to solutions for reducing A&E reliance.

Details:

Contract: 16 hours/week for 9 months, with a review at 3 months.

Fee: £450/week plus reasonable travel expenses.

Location: Aintree Hospital and community settings, with occasional remote working.

Start Date: Mid-February 2025.

The first month will include an intensive onboarding programme with activities like visiting key departments and shadowing HIU leads.

  • Proven experience across various writing mediums.
  • Strong community engagement skills.
  • Flexibility for evening work.
  • Commitment to social change through creativity.
  • Knowledge and experience of safeguarding and working with vulnerable people.
